In short: Vigi-Sky collects the bare minimum. The Sentinel desktop app runs 100% locally — your photos, videos and case files never leave your computer unless you explicitly choose to share a file. No data is ever sold.
Sighting reports (if you submit one): date and time, aiming direction (azimuth, elevation), an approximate and optional location (rounded), a description of the facts, and an optional e-mail address if you want follow-up. Purpose: building a base of verifiable observations. Legal basis: your consent.
Newsletter (if you subscribe): your e-mail address only. Purpose: sending you updates. Legal basis: consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Measurements in the tools (/sky, /witness, the Sentinel app): position and analysis computations run in your browser or on your device. Your GPS position is not sent to the server for these computations.
Navigation measurement and cookies
Optional navigation measurement is offered on thirteen selected French pages at vigi-sky.fr only, after a separate choice. It is not enabled on this English domain. The French scope covers the home, legal, privacy, about, book, checklist, seven-day plan, Aveyron notebook, methodology, ISS, Sun, UFO and aurora pages. No form content, sighting, message, photo or geographic coordinates are sent through this measurement. Interactions in fields and forms do not qualify a page. No download clicks are instrumented at this stage.
A qualified page requires ten active seconds, recent interaction and a visible focused tab. These signals prove neither unique people nor the absence of every bot. Recognised operators and identified tests are separated. No Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity is added by this system.
The optional choice lasts 180 days and can be withdrawn through « Gérer mes cookies » on the relevant French pages. Refusing preserves access to the site. Random per-tab identifiers expire thirty minutes after the last qualified page, no later than midnight Paris time. There is no cross-site identifier or device fingerprint. Temporary data is pruned; daily aggregates last 65 civil days including the current day. Names, email addresses, IP addresses, complete URLs and personal content are not stored in this measurement database.
Only aggregates feed the private ScoreZenith Hub and its private Telegram summary for authorised operators. Withdrawal stops future events and clears the local identifier; it cannot identify an already aggregated contribution. The controller and hosting are those identified in this policy.
The MCP counters below are separate. The Cloudflare network provides security and content delivery and may use technical identifiers necessary for these functions. Hosting security logs are separate from navigation counters; browser settings do not replace the measurement choice.
Technical MCP service counters
Since 5 October 2026 at 22:35 Paris time, the public server shared by vigi-sky.fr and vigi-sky.com measures its usage and reliability. These measurements cover POST /mcp requests, not visits to web pages. They do not set cookies.
Counters aggregate the method, catalogue tool name, technical origin, outcome, latency bucket, server version and call count. They are retained for 35 days. Arguments, replies, photos, geographic coordinates, IP addresses, accounts and conversations are not persisted in these counters. Hosting security logs are separate.
Recognised monitoring and internal tests are separated using dedicated technical credentials. An unknown origin is not evidence of an external human user or an identified AI provider. Listing the catalogue is not a tool call, and a successful call is not proof of a commercial outcome.
Only aggregates feed the private ScoreZenith Hub and its operator summary. Legacy SSE connections, native Sentinel activity and requests rejected before reaching the MCP server are excluded. An abrupt stop may lose pending counters; known collection interruptions remain visible and earlier history is not reconstructed. Read the technical MCP measurement scope.
Recipients and hosting
Data is neither sold nor transferred to third parties for commercial purposes. The site is hosted by Hostinger, on a server located in Paris, France, within the European Union.
Retention
Sighting reports: kept as long as useful to the observation base; deletable on request.
Newsletter e-mail: until you unsubscribe.
Optional French-page navigation: choice retained for 180 days; temporary identifiers expire after thirty minutes without another qualified page and no later than midnight Paris; aggregates retained for 65 civil days.
Technical MCP counters: aggregates retained for 35 days, without exchange contents.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to, restrict and port your data. To exercise them, write to [email protected]. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
